Darryl was born in Canada. He grew up spending a large amount of time in his mother's salon and has always dreamed of being a salon owner himself.
At the age of 10, Darryl fell in love with the beauty industry, and in high school had his first job in a full-service salon where he developed his passion for hair. Darryl trained under Robert Tullio in Canada, and shortly after obtained his first chair. After styling for a few years with Robert, Darryl's mom encouraged him to go big so he set his eyes on New York City. Trying to establish himself in New York was no easy feat, but after one year in the city he received an opportunity to work with celebrity stylist Garren. At Garren New York, Darryl was working with the many of the worlds leading designers, photographers, and celebrities. His work can be seen in GQ, Vogue, Allure, MTV and other publications. Darryl has collaborated with photographers Bruce Weber & Steven Meisel, and has styled Victoria Beckham, Karen Elson, Elizabeth Reaser and Jennifer Tilly to mention a few.
In 2009, Darryl set his sights on Nashville, a city with a small New York feel and a big music scene. Since arriving in Nashville, Darryl has worked with many celebrity musicians including: Billy Currington, Easton Corbin, Laura Bell Bundy, and Rascal Flatts. He worked at Escape Day Spa & Salon for three years when he decided it was time to open his own salon. On May 15, 2012 Darryl Allen Salon opened only a few months after his mother passed from a battle with breast cancer. His greatest inspiration was his mother, now Darryl strives to follow his mothers success.
Darryl's design for the salon is to make people feel at home. From the textures to the warm colors, and burning candles - he wants you to have a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and relax. The most important focus for Darryl and his team is for you to leave feeling beautiful and more confident with your new style.
